Kazumasa Sakai ousts Yong Zhao Ashton Chen to surge into Men?s Singles main round at Japan Open 2012

Japan?s emerging player Kazumasa Sakai proved his mettle on court and made his home fans happy as he reached into Men?s Singles main round after defeating his higher ranked challenger Yong Zhao Ashton Chen of Singapore in qualifying round at Yonex Japan Open 2012 in Japan, on Tuesday, September 18.

Kazumasa showed an elevated performance as he played attacking and positive badminton and outplayed his Singaporean challenger who was the top seeded player in Men?s Singles qualifying round of the championship.

The in-form Japanese shuttler was on a completely different level on court and remained successful in giving a severe treatment to Yong Zhao by finishing up the battle in straight sets with a fantastic margin on score board in 41 minutes.

On the other hand, the higher ranked Yong Zhao played to his maximum potential but failed to stop the aggressive progress of his local challenger and eventually crashed out without making a good use of his impressive craft.

Kazumasa was underdog in this Men?s Singles clash but he proved his worth on court by playing flawless badminton and sent his rival packing without facing any tough resistance.

The opening game was quite favourable for Kazumasa who played positive and aggressive badminton in all areas of court and managed to take a superb lead until the break.

After the mid-game interval, the incredible Kazumasa remained consistent in his aggressive and positive run on court and he did not face any considerable problem in finishing up the set with a 21-13 score on the board.

In the following game, Yong Zhao played better badminton in opening points but again failed to stop his Japanese opponent from setting up an incredible lead until the one-minute break.

After the mid-game interval, Kazumasa remained positive and composed on court and he put his rival in all sorts of trouble by playing to his maximum potential. He easily snatched the second set of this qualifying round battle with a considerable 21-17 score on the board.

Kazumasa made his home fans happy by beating Yong Zhao in straight sets with a striking margin of 21-13 and 21-17.
